The Anglican Diocese is partnering with other local Christchurch churches to bring over a 3DM team from the UK and OZ. In this workshop the team from 3DM UK and Australia will share how over the last 20 years they have learned to use Huddles (a discipleship vehicle) and Missional Communities (a missional vehicle) to see discipleship and mission come alive in church communities in the UK, Europe, and the USA.
You can view their website for more information at http://weare3dm.com. This workshop is perfect timing as many of our parishes begin to look for tangible ways of engaging in formation, outreach, and mission. There will also be more intensive workshops for pastors/vicars/key leaders, etc. from 18th-19th of April.

The Feed The Kids symposium will attempt to answer these 3 questions:
- Where are we now?
- Where do we want to get to?
- How are we going to get there?
Child poverty has doubled in NZ over the last 30 years. In 2013:
- An estimated 270,000 (25%) of New Zealand children live in poverty
- 20% of families with school-age children can’t afford to buy sufficient food
In December 2011 the final report of the Children’s Commissioner’s Expert Advisory Group on Solutions to Child Poverty recommended the introduction of a nationalised, government-funded food programme in low-decile schools as an immediate, cost-effective, and practical way to help address child poverty in New Zealand.
We hope you will give urgent attention to this invitation.

Alistair has considerable experience in a range of countries and communities identifying and applying the principles of transformation across all sectors of society, including the church, the marketplace/business, education, media, government, and health.
In his most recent book “God’s Design For Challenging Times”, Alistair explains the seriousness of the days in which we live and how to experience freedom in an age of compromise. He is an ordained Anglican minister with a Doctorate from Fuller Seminary.

After an optimistic start in 1814 the CMS mission in New Zealand struggled for several years. The small group of enthusiastic evangelicals found themselves in a complex situation "at the ends of the earth", where issues of interpersonal relationships and trade (including allegations of gun-running) seemed to dominate.
The mission was led by the Rev’d Samuel Marsden, who, most of the time, was domiciled in Australia, but in 1819 the Rev’d John Gare Butler was appointed as the Superintendent of the mission, although Marsden still maintained control.
An exploration of the leadership dynamics within the fledging CMS mission in the context of the early settlement of New Zealand, but integrated with our contemporary understanding of leadership, provides valuable insights which are still valid in mission today.
Russell Smith, Dean's Warden at Nelson Cathedral, is researching the life and ministry of John Gare Butler, the first ordained clergy person to reside in New Zealand.

PETER JENSEN, Archbishop of Sydney, is a warm and engaging speaker, but is also an outspoken figure on the Australian religious scene. His advice to the then Prime Minister Howard to ‘read his bible’ was front page news in 2001 and sparked off a national discussion about religion and politics.
He entered Moore Theological College in 1966, and was later to be a lecturer, then Principal there. . In the sixteen years of his principalship the College grew conspicuously.
Peter has published a number of books and articles and his “At the Heart of the Universe” is used worldwide as an introductory text on Christian Doctrine. In 2005, he was invited by the ABC to deliver the Boyer Lecture Series. The lectures have now been published as a book "The Future of Jesus”.
