Welcome to St Augustine's Anglican Church

Hi and welcome to St. Augustine’s.

We are delighted to share this place of worship with you. We hope you enjoy the beauty of the architecture, which is built to honour God. Feel free to look around, sit, pray and soak up the tranquility of this beautiful place.

Even more, we hope that you will get to know us and join in the life of this church family. We love to welcome and include people and to offer something for people of all ages. This includes worship services of various styles, small groups that provide friendship and teaching, and many other activities.

Most of all, we hope that you may grow closer to our Lord Jesus Christ – building your knowledge of God and being open to all that the Holy Spirit wants to do in you and through you.

As a church, we are excited about the mission that God calls all Christians to – to be agents of God’s love and truth to a needy world. We believe that this is what the church exists for. We would love you to become part of that with us.

May the Lord bless you with his peace and grace.

Sunday Services

8am Holy Communion

A traditional service based, alternately, around the NZ Prayer Book and 1928 Prayer Book. Includes a shortened sermon and, occasionally, a little organ music. A quiet, reverent service in the peace of the early morning.

9.15am Holy Communion

A liturgical service drawing on the NZ Prayer Book and other sources. Formal in structure, devotional in style and warm in character. Music is based mostly around the pipe organ; also a choir and an instrumental/singing group each contribute on alternate weeks. Prayer Ministry is available during the Communion time. Service is about an hour in length. Morning Tea follows the service.

11am Informal Worship

Informal, lively worship, relaxed in style and family-orientated. Casual dress. Contemporary Music led by worship band. Drama and other creative forms are encouraged. The service includes Communion once a month. A thriving children’s ministry, has children joining in for the first part of worship and then going out to their own programs. Little children are welcome to stay in Church, Crèche is also available. The service is usually about one hour long. Prayer Ministry is available for personal prayer needs. Tea and Coffee, etc. for all afterwards.

Concerning Holy Communion: All Christians of all ages (including children if parents wish) are welcome to share in the bread and wine of the Lord’s Supper.
