Shane Claiborne’s recent book is fast becoming a classic for those wishing to flirt with the radical edge of faith. His incredible story beams through from first to last page in this fast paced “autobiographitheological” page-turner. Described as a poet, prophet and “ordinary radical,” Shane alternates between biography and practical theology, blurring the line so brilliantly that you begin to forget where theology stops and life begins.
His vivid and vibrant writing style makes it easy to join him on his journey. You can almost hear him beckoning you to a deeper, more authentic life where you not only question everything, but actually change the way you live. If I had any criticism at all, it might be that the book moves through ideas so quickly that it can be tough to digest the incredible truths from the previous page!
If you’re looking for well-structured, solid theological exposition, or an inspiring but non-challenging autobiography, don’t read this book. If you are anyone else, prepare to be wooed into the irresistible revolution of hope, joy and radical love.
