What’s at the heart of a good childhood? Theology House is addressing that question with a six-part national conference that explores “the science and the spirit of good parenting in the 21st century.”
Based in the St Margaret’s College Chapel, the programme runs from 7 to 8.30pm for six consecutive Mondays from February 22 to March 29. Presenters include Children’s Commissioner John Angus, Youth Court Judge Andrew Becroft, TV personality Judy Bailey, and a wide range of specialists in education, law, medicine, child development, and spirituality. Chief adviser for the conference is Dr Patricia Champion, founder of the internationally acclaimed Champion Centre at Burwood.
“Most parents and grandparents want to do the very best by their children but they’re often compromised by negative influences in our culture,” says Brian Thomas, project manager at Theology House.
“This conference should offer fresh insights into countering such influences so that we raise happy, well-adjusted children.”
Total cost of the six-part series is $60. Places will be limited, so early registration is essential. Ring Chris Church at Theology House, 03 355-9145, or email admin@theologyhouse.ac.nz.
