24 Aug 2011
Greetings, and a particularly warm greeting if this is your first Synod!
Synod 2011 convenes for one and a half days, beginning
Friday, 2 September, from 2.00pm, commencing with Synod Eucharist at 3.00pm,
at St Christopher’s Church, 244 Avonhead Road, Avonhead, Christchurch.
Everyone is welcome to attend this service so please remember to extend this invitation to all your parishioners.
The first business session begins at 4.45pm and will conclude with a meal.
Several Synod-related documents are available on our website, www.anglicanlife.org.nz including a map of Avonhead and surrounding suburbs, the Order Paper for Synod, and a blank Nomination Form. Parking is available in the grounds or adjacent streets. The Synod Eucharist and all sessions will be held in the Worship Space, and those attending will be seated at tables with their parish/ministry unit. It is a good idea for your parish to bring a copy of the Diocesan Regulations (the Blue Book).
Business, meal breaks, and worship will follow the Order Paper sent in the August mailing.
An up-dated Schedule of Bills and Motions has been sent with Synod papers and is marked Final Version. Synod attend
ees are urged to read all bills and motions with care so they are well-informed for debate and are reminded to bring the schedule along with all papers.
