Anglican Centre Staff Face a Flood of Backdated Emails

05 Aug 2011

On Thursday, 4 August, Anglican Centre staff received a flood of emails, Delivery Status Notification (Delay) messages, and "Your message did not receive some of its intended recipients" warmings for messages that were sent as long ago as early July.

While some of the original messages were relatively trivial, others were much more important, and only reached their intended recipients several weeks after being sent.

"There seemed to be no correlation between size or importance of the message, or even whether or not an attachment was included", says Communications Officer Philip Baldwin.

"Since the distribution of e-Life newsletters on Wednesdays has been particularly affected by intermittent email delays, parish administrators, clergy, wardens, and other recipients of the weekly newsletter will always be able to find a copy of it on our website.

"We are working with our network administrator to determine the source of the problem, and hope not to have a repetition of this difficulty."
