Dear Victoria,
Just to say I was Day Chaplain today at Christ Church, Oxford. The prayers I led on each hour included prayer for you and yours - as I drew the attention of our visitors to our round East window in sad contrast to the loss of your icon of the icon.
Then among our visitors I found parents from Christchurch NZ with their daughter, over here for the graduation of their son. The father is a surgeon. He lost his clinic and the family lost their home in the earliest quake. They spoke with warm appreciation of your ministry. The mum was tearful, but glad to be able to enjoy the beauty of our building. I hope our chance meeting was of some comfort to them.
Tomorrow we have a Deanery Eucharist, and I have asked the intercessor to include you. Peter Beck is remembered here, as he served his title as a curate in Banbury - the main town in this Deanery.
With our love,
Canon Christopher Hall (achall@globalnet.co.uk)

I am an export from Christchurch Diocese, currently serving in the Netherlands (Dio in Europe). After noting the call for prayer on Facebook, I reflected on Psalm 16 and felt that v.8 might be an encouragement and focus to you and the spiritually exhausted.
In the ESV it reads:
I have set the Lord always before me; because he is at my right hand, I shall not be shaken.
With prayer,

Dear Bishop Matthews,
Please know that you and all in the Diocese are in the thoughts and prayers of the Melanesian Brotherhood. We have our own horrors such as tsunamis and the like, and so we can feel the anxiety and hurt of people there.
The brothers and I remember fondly and with thanksgiving our weekend last year with you all in Christchurch.
Please pass on our prayers and love to the Dean, the clergy, and people.
God bless you and keep you strong!
Brother John Blyth
