On 24 Sept 2012 Waimate District Cooperating Venture came into being with the celebratory signing of its Covenant document (see attached file).

People from the three parishes of St Augustine's Waimate, Waihao, and St Andrew's Cooperating worshipped at the Covenant Service in Waimate to mark this new beginning, which involves an on-going partnership between Presbyterians and Anglicans, with the Anglican Church being the primary partner.

The agreement was signed by Bishop Victoria Matthews, Moderator the Rev'd Les Gosling, and the Rev'd Peter MacKenzie from UCANZ, as well as local Wardens and Senior Elders.

Symbols of past and present ministry were presented; children and young people included; balloons, banners, rainbows and kites were important for this special occasion; and a festive lunch preceded the first meeting of the new Cooperating Venture to pass the necessary legal and operating resolutions.
