St Stephen’s Lincoln, Sesquicentennial (150th) Anniversary Weekend

The Parish of St Stephens, Lincoln, would like to invite any former parishioners or people with a connection to our parish, to join us in celebrating this amazing occasion!

We have an interesting weekend planned, beginning with a Historical Tour of the churches in our parish on Saturday 29th, followed by a Celebration Party at the Lincoln Events Centre Saturday evening, and a Celebration Eucharist on Sunday morning. This will be followed by morning tea and the cutting of the anniversary cake.

The Parish has a rich history, and the tour will begin at Ashley Dene, the site of the first church between the Rakaia and Waimakariri Rivers. A local historian is preparing a brief history of the last 50 years, and he will have a draft of this available at the weekend.

St Stephen’s has experienced considerable growth over the last two years, and as well as celebrating the blessings of the last 150 years at this weekend, looks forward to planning ahead for a bright future, with God’s grace.
