Theology After 5: Your Kingdom Come – Revelation and the Mission of the Church

18 August, 5:30 pm7:00 pm NZST

Two common approaches to the Book of Revelation are to ignore it or to start a cult. Let’s see if we can find a better way.

Using St John’s apocalyptic vision recorded in Revelation, we will think about the end of the world and the mission of the Church. We will explore how to read apocalyptic literature, what happens when we die, Heaven and Hell, and all those things often in the “too hard basket”.

Bring your curliest questions and most bizarre theories from the internet.

What’s Involved?

The hope for our time together is great conversation, not a lecture.

As a review from one of our recent students says:

“The beauty of these courses, is that they provide a safe and open environment to ask sincere questions without judgment. I leave each session feeling enriched by the differing insights into Scripture and how these new perspectives deepen my understanding of God, faith, and my interactions with others.”

Each week you’ll prepare with 1–2 hours of reading or video content before the session. This material will lay the groundwork for lively in-person discussions and activities. The more you prepare, the more you’ll get out of it. Each session builds on the last, so regular attendance is encouraged—but don’t worry if you miss a week; you’ll still be able to join in.
