The Diocesan Ministry and Mission Team support the bishop in the training and enabling of ministry and mission in the Diocese. The Education and Ordination personnel support and encourage those seeking to enter the priesthood, those who are about to be ordained, and ordained ministers in their first few years.
The Diocesan Ministry Team (Under 40’s Team) encourage and enable young adult, youth and children’s workers in their individual parish roles.

Your first point of call for anything regarding children, families, youth, and young adults. Sammy is happy to talk with any parishes about anything for under 40’s ministry. Due to the part-time nature of this team, please contact Sammy in the first instance.

Paul’s speciality is leadership development, especially in the areas of worship music, discipling, and growing young leaders.
Under 40’s Safeguarding Educator: Phil Trotter.

The Safeguarding Educator works with Diocesan staff to make sure our Diocese and Parishes are striving to be safe places for our children, young people and vulnerable adults. This person provides training for leaders of children’s and youth ministries as well as Parish Safeguarding Contacts.

Below are some great advent resources for you to use in your churches and communities.
- 40 days of acts of kindness to a different person each day, alongside a commitment to praying for that person each day
- Go to this link and scroll down to the video – it’s about 3 mins long. It shows our young people 5 steps they can use to unpack their days with Jesus. Challenge them to do this for 40 days and create smaller groups (of about 4). In these small groups get them to share what’s been happening for them and as they do this.
