Holy Week began with a beautiful day on Palm Sunday.
What a joy it was to welcome families into the grounds of Christ Church Cathedral for a special Children’s Service in Cathedral Square.
Palm Crosses were distributed and the young ones were able to make their very own foil chalices. Dean Ben and his team did an incredible job of making all welcome, including some foreign visitors who were attending a service for the first time in New Zealand.
After the service, those old enough were able to see inside the Cathedral. Afterwards everyone enjoyed a cup of tea and a hot cross bun!
It was a lovely moment to reflect on what it is to come together in this special place and celebrate the joy and hope that Easter brings.
