2026 Workshops
Attending a Safe Ministry and Boundaries workshop is a condition that all personnel holding a bishop’s licence or Permission to Officiate in the Anglican Diocese of Christchurch.
This has been previously known as ‘Safe Ministry Training’ and ‘Boundaries Training’. Attending a workshop at least once every three years is required for a licence to remain current.
In late 2025, we opened the workshops to key volunteers as well. Their feedback was very positive. The content covered in a workshop will be helpful to all, regardless of their position or their time served to the church.
The Reverend Jemma Allen will return to lead these workshops for our Diocese. She is a priest from the Diocese of Auckland and currently practises as a counsellor and spiritual director. Jemma has a wealth of experience, having been a university chaplain and worked in parishes in Waikato, Auckland, and Beijing.
Join us for an opportunity to talk about intricacies of ministry, covering topics such as:
- How do we keep ourselves and others safe in the context of ministry?
- Should you accept the offer of a parishioner’s holiday home for a week?
- How personal should you get in a sermon?
Add your safe ministry and boundaries topics and/or questions when you register.
