Our young people are the future of the church. They bring fresh energy, creative ideas and new challenges. All over our Diocese, amazing ministries are happening in schools, churches, parishes and communities.

The Diocese puts a huge priority on our young people and those walk beside them and lead them. Our Children and Youth Office is here to help support that work.

      • We have many Children’s Programmes throughout the Diocese. Check out your local Anglican Church’s website to see what’s on offer. You can also contact Azaria Peach our Children’s Ministry Educator on cmd@anglicanlife.org.nz.
      • We have 32 active youth groups across Christchurch available for young people to come and join the fun. If you’d like to know what is on offer in your area, Rev’d Sammy Mould our Under 40’s Ministry Team Leader, would love to help you out. Contact her at youth@anglicanlife.org.nz. Check us out on Facebook to see our latest news and find out more about youth events across the city.

TOOLBOX

TOOLBOX is a group of documents that have been written to support the ‘Keeping them Safe’ manual. The purpose of these documents is to give examples and possible templates of policies, procedures and forms for the care of children and youth in church programme environments. These documents are free to download and edit to suit your own content. Click here to visit Toolbox.

Children’s Ministry website

Planning Children’s Ministry lessons is easy—go to Azaria’s website for a full range of resources for all your church activities: www.anglicanchildren.com

The website is constantly being added to. On it, you will find a range of activities and lesson ideas grouped by Bible story (they’re easy to find), and other creative prayer and story ideas.

If you have great lessons you already use and you are willing to share with other Children’s Workers, contact Azaria at cmd@anglicanlife.org.nz or call her on 020 4026 1160.

Resources—Lent

Below are some great advent resources for you to use in your churches and communities.

1. 40 days of acts of kindness to a different person each day, alongside a commitment to praying for that person each day

2. Go to this link https://youtu.be/tDZJ75kPcIc?si=jmUiGHvl3KxjSY59 and scroll down to the video – it’s about 3 mins long. It shows our young people 5 steps they can use to unpack their days with Jesus. Challenge them to do this for 40 days and create smaller groups (of about 4). In these small groups get them to share what’s been happening for them and as they do this.

Lastly looking under our very own Anglican Strandz site under the resources for Lent & Easter www.strandz.org.nz/lent–easter.html
