Training

The Kiln
If you’re a young adult aged between 17 and 25, and think you have what it takes to be a leader – then The Kiln is for you! The Kiln is all about forming young people with potential into creative Anglican leaders by offering regular workshops, mentoring, brain fodder… and food. If you’d like to find out more Sammy would love to hear from you, so drop her a line at: youth@anglicanlife.org.nz

The Abbey
The Abbey is our national Anglican youth ministry conference: a place for all Anglican youth leaders to gather, train and be encouraged. Meet, laugh, worship with and learn from other youth leaders from Anglican churches around NZ who love following Jesus and developing young people.
Friday 24- Sunday 26 August
Location: El Rancho, Waikanae

Laidlaw College
A number of our youth leaders study and do internships through Laidlaw College – which has a campus in Christchurch. Laidlaw College provides a dynamic learning environment and aims to equip students and scholars to renew their communities with a faith as intelligent as it is courageous. They offer NZQA accredited diploma and degree qualifications in Primary Teaching & Worldview Studies, Mission & Ministry, Counseling, Theology, and Internships.

Praxis
Praxis courses are split between learning in a classroom setting (at block courses and group work on specific days of the week) and practical work with a church or community organisation in your community. The Praxis course is offered both as a ‘stand alone program’ and as the training component for internships which are offered by a range of partner groups. The Praxis course offers two streams – a level four 1 year long Certificate in Youth Work or a level six 2 year Diploma in Youth and Community Studies.
